Built using Processing, an open-source language for programming images, animations and interactions. This is my first project to see an idea through to a resolved end using Processing.

I started with the aim to make typographic snowflakes out of friends’ names for christmas. Inherent to snowflakes is the idea that no two are alike and the infinite possiblities of their arrangements and appearance. Quickly I decided this would be a good project to experiment with Processing on, because of its dynamic abilities to generate different flakes and the openess of outcome whether it be static, animated, printed or interactive. From the same basic program to create a snowflake from a word, many outcomes could be achieved from an animated ‘winter wonderland’ to generation of large flakes and high resolution export for print.
